Children: Nichole | Re: moms with more then one | | wow, I had no clue you were or are a suragate mom. That is amazing!!! You are my hero for the day!!!
So most of them were shorter or close to the same time. That is reassureing. lol since mine was so darn quick, i would love the next one to be shorter!!
I did go from a 1 to 4 in about an hour and then a 4 to pushing her out in another hour |

Children: 2 boys & 1 girl - ages 14, 11, 8 | Re: moms with more then one | | I've been lucky so far! Even my posterior baby was quick. (which often lengthens labor significantly because of the unnatural positioning and the increased discomfort)
My midwife made me squat through the entire labor though - and I needed 4 stitches because he flew out so fast! I'll never squat past transition ever again!
Seriously, though, every labor is totally different. Even with my pretty steady patterns, I worry that this will be the labor that throws me a curve ball. I still get stage fright, this late in the game - and end up wishing that the baby would come NOW and NEVER at the same time. |

Children: Nichole | Re: moms with more then one | | lol I bet! I can't even imagine going through it some many times. And then you don't get to keep the baby, that is such an unconditional love you have and so much to give. |

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: moms with more then one | | OK, in a nut shell... Baby #1 was born via c-section after 48 hours labor, pitocin included. They gave me an epidural after 24 hrs. simply because I was totally wiped out. They finally did an x-ray to see why the baby wasn't coming and discovered his head wedged against my heart-shaped pelvis. My OB/GYN said no baby would ever fit through.
Baby #2 was supposed to be a scheduled c-section, however, my water broke 5 days prior to the scheduled date. It happened to be on a Saturday when surgeries aren't usually scheduled. The medical staff on call had to come in to deliver her via c-section. We still had that element of surprise! LOL!
I'm so very glad we didn't try a home birth. |

Children: Nichole | Re: moms with more then one | | That wasn't so hard. lol Thanks for sharing.
You may not ever be able to get a baby through, but many women are told that many a few docs then one comes along and says, no you can and they do. There is just no way of telling. Besides even if you had a homebirth and still needed a c-section you would have had time to get to the hospital, geez 48 hours of labor!! OUCH!!!
Glad your babies were all born healthy! That truly is the most important thing |
