Re: Bottle Feeding Vs Breast Feeding | | Well my first question is by bottle feeding, do you mean formula feeding? MANY woman pump breastmilk and bottle feed that way, especially working woman.
For now I will assume you mean breast vs formula
1) Which did you do? breast only, we did attempt expressed milk but she refused the bottle
2) Why did you think this was best? breast is best for many many reasons that I am sure yo uare aware of since you are researching it
3) What were the advantages/disadvantages? I never had to wash bottles, mix formula, bresatmilk smells better, baby is less likely to be colic, get sick have diarrhea, on and on.... I never had to pack bottles to go somewhere, her food was always right there ready when she was. Disadvantages: not a one
4) Was your child sick often? no, she has had one cold, and never sick before the age of one, except for the vaccine reaction. After 1, still breastfeeding, she has had no colds, but has been sick one time and has had one ear infection as of last week.
5) Were they smaller or bigger than most children their ages? smaller. Always has been. She was born more the 2 weeks over due and still only weighed 6lbs 12oz. She did however NEVER loose weight. We left the hospital at 7lbs even. She is a tiny toddler, but I am also very small as is her dad. I am 5'2" and 110lbs, dad is 5'8" and about 140. So I doubt she would have been hug with any feeding choice. I will say she was a very chunky baby though!!! She had rolls on her rolls, but slimmed out at 11 months when learning to walk.
Any other questions, please feel free to ask me. Breastfeeding is one of my pasions. |
