Children: Jill born Jan 12, 1996 | Evil Kids? | | I have been watching the show "Kid Nation" and monitoring the discussion about the show in a TV forum else where on the Internet. Some of the discussion in that forum turned to the discussion of catagories of kids. Bad Kids, Good Kids, Evil Kids.
Are there "Evil Kids" and "Good Kids"? And is it good to perceive kids this way?
Do you know any? |

Children: Nichole | Re: Evil Kids? | | well I do hope by Evil they are in jest. Sure there are some kids that I would, well might call evil. Kids who murder things like taht, but even then it is usually due to som ehorrific even that happened in the childs life.
I watch that show myself and I do not see any "evil" kids there, some work harder then other sure, and the little ones I want to beat and send them home lol but "evil", such a strong word |

We're all such complex people with our own intentions, motivations and values. We make good choices and bad choices - but I don't think those define us as a whole. |

The reality is that even those people who rape, murder, steal and commit other egregious acts have other aspects to their character. Those who have loved them can testify to that.
So does one terrible choice (or two or three..?) define the whole person? |

Children: Nichole | Re: Evil Kids? | | depends. If someone is a rapist and mass murderer, then yes I will say that defines their whole person. Judging? yes it is we all judge that way. It kinda goes back to the child predator that lives 2 houses down. Do I consider them "evil" well no not really, to me Satan is evil, can a person do evil things, absolutly. But I will judge that person to the extent my child will never being going trick or treating at that house, kinda thing. |

So let me try asking another way. If you learned that your brother molested his daughter (on the premise that you have a brother with a daughter) - would that one act define everything else in his life, and his relationship with you? |

Children: Nichole | Re: Evil Kids? | | oohhh tough one. I think if that did happen (something similar with an uncle) I may still have a mild relationship with him, but it would change the entire relationship. He woul dnot be able to see my daugher ever. N ot even at family events that he was at, she would not be.
My uncle never molested anyone, that we know of but we have always gottne weird vibes about him and little girls. Looks at them funny, to friendly things like that. He is a bachelor and always just did "weird" things. Well one day my sister was at the zoo with her kids and he was there video taping kids walking by (he was ny himself) that was kinda the last straw. I ahve only seen him once since then, (my grandpa's funeral) my daughter was there, but she was 3 months old and never left my arms excpet to be held by my parents next to me. he is now far away in another state and we have no contact with him. My father (his brother) does still occassionaly talk to him by phone but, yes they are no longer "close family" |
