Children: 4 Year Old Daughter | Movies and kiddos | | So GW and I went to the theater to see 10,000 BC - plenty of prehistoric, bloody battle scenes (Rated PG-13 for sequences of intense action and violence. ) The thing that floors me is that there seemed to be more toddlers there than adults... plus two infants.
What are your opinions?

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: Movies and kiddos | | My opinion.... My kids won't be seeing PG-13 movies until they're at least 13. That's the rule in our house. |

But a couple of friends used to take their baby (now almost 10) with them to movies. As soon as it was dark, he would zonk out and sleep through the whole thing. Though mine sure wouldn't have.
So depending on the baby, I wouldn't have a problem with that. |

Children: Nichole | Re: Movies and kiddos | | I agree, if the baby is going to sleep the whole time, then whatever, but I would not take my child to see the movie if they were toddlers |

Children: 4 yr old goof ball | Re: Movies and kiddos | | I would think the volume level at the theatre would not be ideal for an infant. Not to mention the fact that although they are asleep they can still hear the screams, moans, gun shots, etc...

Or people just suck.
I think we're going to see Kung Fu Panda on Sunday. |

Children: 4 Year Old Daughter | Re: Movies and kiddos | | I just kept thinking about all those young neuropathways developing while watching that violent movie, frustrates me.
Kung Fu Panda looks cute!

| Re: Movies and kiddos | | I agree
I dont want to spend alot of money paying for my kid to watch to find out I am gonna have to leave because it was not appropraite. Let me tell you there are days I want to get out and all the sitters are busy. If its not advertised for kids though to bad for me.
That movie did look violent even in the previews.
When I was kid I was flabber gasted by my aunt who let my younger cousins watch horror movies. My mom had to take me out of the house and tell me it was none of my business because I chewed her( my aunt) out. LOL nah she didnt learn anything from it but i did ( still learning that one and perfecting it)
I have always been the protective type since really little. |

| Re: Movies and kiddos | | I agree, and follow the rating system.
Treehouse, is K's channel of choice, and disney and barbie DVD's.
(I'm getting so sick of them all) |
