Children: 4 yr old goof ball | Re: Sex Ed | | Yeah, I agree with that and that is why I said I would back it up with my own talks with them.
They can learn all the organs, and what happens from zygote to birth from the school. The rest is up to the parents.

I think sex ed should be taught in school, but I think it should actually be TAUGHT. Just teaching abstinence is wishful thinking, IMO.
Ultimately though, the responsibility IS the parent's and no one else's. | I'm really sorry to hear that. Sex Ed at our school was 1/2 of and entire semester. which included assignments and tests. |

I resepct that fully. but Sex Ed doesn't just teach about how to be safe, it teaches students (and this is more aimed at high school) about Sexual development, Reproduction, Contraception and Relationships. Sexual development as in the anatomy of the body. Reproduction, how that works nad how a baby is formed etc, contraception: how to protect yourself if you so chose to engage in sex, and relationships in general.
| I can teach all that to him myself.

Personally, I agree with Lissa, and would rather teach my kids moreso about morals and less about protection. I don't want my kids to think having sex is acceptable until they're older, and I don't think a lot of schools these days reinforce that.

At school they are taught evertying they need to know, but as parents we let our kids know how we feel about sex, and hope they don't take our concerns lightly |

However, when we are not around, teachers then take positions as "parents" or authoritative figures, hence they are also taught right from wrong from them too. |

Also Amber is saying what is the difference between them learning the science behind reproduction, not the morals behind sex. It is no different than learning the leg bone is connected to the thigh bone.

Yes, I am sexually attracted to women. It is not okay, according to my beliefs, for me to have these feelings.
