I agree that most parents that have a close relationship with their children, probably already know. I have a good friend that is waiting on the day her daughter tells her.

He just said "Mom, I'm gay" right before leaving for school. As it's been pointed out, it was something I suspected anyway.
I wasn't upset or shocked or angry. In fact, I wasn't really anything. I worried a bit about what it would be like for him at school, but he assures me that times are changing and it's rare for gays at his school to be picked on. Overall, though, it was just another fact about my son. His eyes are hazel. He's tall. He's gay. |
