My 19 month old is that way. He's attached to me all day and has been very whiny.

He just started acting like this only about 2 weeks ago, he has never been like this never whines or anything!! Hopefully it is just a stage.

Do you just continue to ignore them when they whine like that?

BTDT with both kids. Do I ignore it? Depends why they're whiny. If they're sick, I give them extra TLC. Otherwise I'll say, "Sorry, I don't respond to whining," and then I ignore them. If they don't get the message I'll whine back to them and exaggerate so they realize what it sounds like and how annoying it is.

lol Trina, I do that too!!

Yes if she is sick or just very tired but we are someplace that she can't go to sleep at, then I usually just spoil her in a sense. Now if we are home and she is just whiny, regardless if she is tired, then I ignore it or go to her level and tell her very directly "stop whining, if you want me to answer you I need you to say it without whineing" Even at 2 she gets that and will usually calm down and say it right

Ever noticed that after they have been sick, they keep playing the sick card after they get well to get all that special attention?

He only does it when we are at home, if we are out he is fine. I think he is just so busy that when we are home he just gets bored and whines.

The bad part is he wont talk yet, he will be 2 in august and he can say words but he wont tell you what he wants!!

And he shouldn't be sick I wouldn't think because this has been going on now for like 2 weeks! His molars is the only thing I can think of?
