As a mom of 7 I have been bitten many times, my oldest was the worse and would draw blood on his little sister, he was the only one I had to do bite back with, and that was trying EVERY other thing out there.

The best thing I have found though is to move the child away from you the minute they bite and say "NO Biting, that hurts" and then walk away, I always make the mistake of laughing the first time they bite me cause it usually is so unexpected every child is different so what works for one won't always work for another, but it really boils down to being a phase.
