Bryan is on a distinguished road
Default Development at 22 months.

I am really concerned about my daughter. At 22 months she doesn't speak, other than saying 'momma' when in distress. But we aren't really sure she is asking for my wife. She makes a lot of nonsense noise, using all of the vowels and such.

She doesn't seem to play like other children. She lines up her toys in very neat rows, but doesn't really 'play' with them. We are so afraid that she has a development issue, but are not sure how to tackle it. We just don't have the money for a specialist at this point.

We made the drastic mistake of buying her tons of Disney movies, and allowing her to watch them. She doesn't seem to pay attention to us in any way, and will look past us at the TV even when it isn't on. Trying to read to her seems to bore her and she moves on in a few minutes to something else.

I was hoping to hear from you other parents with your thoughts, and ideas.

All children grow at their own pace. I would definitely talk to your daughter's pediatrician about your concerns. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Sounds like autism. I'm not a Dr. Have you posted on an autism board just to throw this all out there to them. Or Asbergers (something else to look into)
You are in my prayers.
If you have you tube you should put in Autism and you will see children and see if you could compare.
Every child is beautful.

I would say if you are truly concerned you need to talk to your doctor. Money is not an issue at this point. If yur child doctor is worried they can call in early intervention which is free. It is not the best program but its a start to see where your dd is
