Children: Marissa 10-04-06, James 05-01-01 and Jessica 12-01-98 | First attempt at real words! | | Marissa is 13 months old and yesterday she tried to say Banana! It was sooo cute! She was saying 'nana' because I was saying banana when I was feeding her one.
She also tries to say 'Thank.' We play a little game sometimes where she will pick up everything within reach and give it to me. I tell her 'Thank You' each time, and it gets her really excited. So now she is trying to say that too.
I LOVE that she is doing so much, but wow....she sure is growing fast! |

Children: Jill born Jan 12, 1996 | Re: First attempt at real words! | | I remember when our daughter learned to say "Cookie". She keep saying it over and over and over. It's wasn't that she really wanted a cookie, she just loved to say the word, and she'd laugh. And what was odd at the time, we rarely gave her cookies. I think it was something she picked up while visiting my in-laws. |
