Exclamation Fluoride drops

Fluoride drops, something I’ve been wondering about for awhile now. Anae’s mother and I have been talking about it ever since she turned six months. Now being eight months old we really need to buckle down so I’m asking for your help... yes or no? My Family (siblings and I) all took the drops and our teeth are very strong and healthy (at least that’s what my dentist says) Anae’s mother’s family is against the drops and believes them to be unnecessary. So it’s really tough because the Grandparents are stuck on each side and I we (anae’s mother and i) don’t want to upset anyone. OK. Sorry. The real question, are fluoride drops unhealthy? Do you know someone who has taken them vs. someone else who hasn’t?

I have heard that too much can be detrimental. I found these links, maybe that will help.

If you're on city water with flouride, NO, the drops aren't necessary. The only time our pediatrician advises them is if a family uses well water.

To much can be just as bad as not enough, city water already has it, well water doesn't, which is what we use, but I don't give flouride drops. Our dentist said to just rub there teeth, when little, with some flouride mouth wash, they have it for kids, right before bed after their last bottle, and if possible in the morning. I do this with my 23 month old but all of my kids rinse with it.

I started giving them to Alenya whenever she was 2 years old. I don't see the harm in them. Docs give them for a purpose the way I see it.
