Children: Nichole | Re: gas | | infant gas drops, gripe water.
is he formula fed? Might be his type of formula, also might be the bottles yo are using. Might want to shop around for a low gas bottle. Dr. Browns I know are suppose to be good along with any drop in type.
With formula: I am not much help as you know. But I would sugest talking to your doc about it some other formula moms. THey might be able to point you in the right direction. I do tend to stay away from soy, since it puts estrogen in babies bodies when they don't need it
I hope Oliver feels better soon |

I don't remember which one of my kids, but one of them burped easier when placed over my seated legs, rather than up over my shoulder. I also agree that if it's really bad, you might want to switch formula. I was a breastfeeding mother, so as Kaytee said, perhaps some of the formula moms will be more helpful regarding types of formula to try.

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: gas | | Oliver is a toddler and is sick and on antibiotics right now. He may or may not still be on formula, but is he drinking milk? Milk can cause intestinal havoc when a child is sick. My ped. told me when they have a stomach bug they become temporarily lactose intolerant. Hope he's better soon, Lissa! |

Children: Nichole | Re: gas | | that's true Trina, many kids do become temporarily lactose intolerant. Nichole did. We had to get rid of all dairy for about 3 weeks and then she was fine.
I don't think Oliver has turned 1 though, has he? |

 | Re: gas | | Oliver is 15 months and on whole milk and antibiotics. The gas began that night we took him to the ER (Thursday). So it was before the antibiotics. He was in such pain this morning. Up again last night. Milicon doesn't help. Never heard of gripe water. Where do you find that?
I've tried bouncing him, massaging his tummy, rocking him, nothing works. He just screams and hunches over.

Children: One boy 8, twin girls 7. | Re: gas | | Antibiotics can most definitly cause gas. My daughter who's six kept saying "mommy, I am farting alot!" and that's the only thing that was changed in her diet. She was on antibiotics. You can try and give him more water in between feedings to help cut back on the bacteria that makes gas. Just a thought. |
