You know what we did with the Binki. My daugther was also 3 when we decided it was time for it to get going and she had TONS of them. So we explained to her that we would no longer be buying any more binkies if she lost them, if she wanted it she had to find one of them in the house somewhere, wherever she had put it. Then when she would set it down and leave it, we would pick it up and put it away where she couldn't find it. It did take some time because she had like 50 of them stashed away - LOL - but it was a great no big deal way to get rid of them and it kinda put it as her responcability as well.

My dd would not take a pacifier but I have heard of parents, with older kids like 3, that they would send them to the pacifier fairy. THey would buy get them down to one pacifer, then on a certain day ( you would have to build up to it, like in one week the paci is going to the paci fairy, in 2 days... tomorrow... kinda thing)
anyways then they would buy a bunch of helium ballons and tie the paci to the balloons then send it away. the kids think its so exciting!!

The safer you can make her feel the luckier you'll be.

Bear in mind that your precious routine will need to change as your kid develops. Maybe does she need more books? Does she get enough time in her own bedroom being alone with a parent each night, or does she end up getting left in bed a bit lonely?
