Default I bought my son his toddler bed, how do I get him to sleep in it?

Skyler is 22 months and is starting to climb out of his crib, scares the crap out of me that he might fall and get hurt.. So I bought him his toddler bed. What is the best way to get him to start sleeping in it? He is one that puts himself to sleep, so putting him there after hes asleep wont work. Any advice is appreciated!

for us it was easy, her first night with the new bed she slept in it no problem. She was super excited about her big girl bed. He may take to it easier than you think

We just moved Nichole about 2 month sago, she was 18 months old. I did it at nap first. I would lay her down just like it was her crib gaves kisses and said nap time. I left the room. She came out 2 or 3 times and I would just go back in there and make her climb back up into her bed. Then I stayed outside her door for about 5 min. Everytime I heard her moving I would just say "Nichole lay down" and she would lay back down. That night she came out of her room 2 times and I would just take her back in there. No problems since. Our transition was easy!!

I just attempted to get him to take a nap in the new bed... he cried for a minute, then i heard him playing so I put him back in bed and left the room. he started screaming like someone was trying to kill him!! i gave in and put him in his crib and he is still crying i think im gonna let him stay in his crib a few more days before attempting again.. maybe he just needs to get used to seeing it in his room.

YAY!!! That is so great!!!!
I think Nicholes transition was easy due to the fact that we used her crib and converted it to a toddler bed, so it still was her "crib" ya konw?

yep. both of my kids 'transitioned' instantly. Kid #2 was jumping on her new bed before I'd even put it together in her room.

I can't see that it's going to be an issue.
