Default menstruation after childbirth

My daughter is a little over 3 months old now, and I breastfed her until about 3 weeks ago. I still have not had my first real period. Is this normal? I'm going to call my OB tomorrow, but I was wondering if any of you had similar experiences.

VERY NORMAL!!! Even woman who never breastfeed it can take 2 months or so for them to get a period back.
With nursing it can be longer. I had my period back at 8 weeks pp even though she was ebf. So it just depends on the person. I would not be concerned unless it goes for longer then about 2 months. But thats just my unproffecional advise lol

This past week I keep cramping and thinking, "Maybe..." But then nothing...I'm worried whenever I do have one again it's going to be horrific.

Lol, I'm worried about mine too.. I go back to school in August and I'm going to have to supplement formula some..and I've read that what keeps your period away is when you use enough of your milk..I'm worried its going to come back when I start supplementing

I guess it's different for everybody. *shrugs* I never thought I would ever say this, but I wish it would just get here, and I could get it over with already!

Totally normal and different for everyone. Hormones are crazy after child birth. Even once your cycle starts again, it may be different from what you were used to prebaby. I BF DS for 6 mos. and didn't start my period until he was 9 mos.. I nursed DD for 16 mos., but started my cycle shortly after she started on solids at 6 mos., so it can be different with each baby, too!
