Default Toddler vs. Crib Sleeping Times

My daughter is 21 months old, and we just moved her into her toddler bed due to the fact that she decided it would be a good idea to throw herself out of her crib. I guess it was a good thing my wife and I were in the room. I was luckily able to throw myself across her bedroom and make a wide-reciever like catch. I was about to spike the ball until I realized I was holding my child and not a football .

My question has to do with sleeping times. When my daughter was in her crib she would go to bed at about 7:30pm and sleep until about 7:30-8:00am. Ever since we switched her over to her toddler bed she goes to bed at the same time, but will wake up at about 6:00am.

Is this normal for the change in bed to cause a change in sleeping pattern? Any advice would be truly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Ray

It may be that when she was in her crib, she did wake at 6:00 am, found that the house was still quiet, and laid there for a minute and went back to sleep. Now that she is in a toddler bed, she is free to roam around when she wakes.

Hannah did that in the middle of the night when she started in her big-girl bed. She would wake up every night around 1, talk to herself for a minute, and fall right back to sleep. But as soon as she was able to get herself out of bed, I started getting a midnight visitor!

That's just one idea....

This would be might first guess as well. And of course, you have to get up when they do at that point, no more sleeping for another few minutes once you have toddler running around

I was going to say the samething, I guess that's your answer than. I miss my dd being in her crib, she would wake up and talk to herself a while, play a bit and sing little tunes for while before she woke me up in the morning. Half the time I was up and listening to her on the monitor but she would wait quite bit before calling for me

I had totally forgotten that our daughter use to do that too. I remember her talking her stuff animals telling them thing she was going to do, or what we were going to do. It was a lot of pretend stuff or "Mommy is going to....", "Daddy is going to.....". She might play by herself 30 minutes or longer in the morning. It was also fun to listen to her talk to the cats who often slept in her room.

well my experience is backwards form everyone else. Not that they are wrong, I would think the same thing, my child was just different.
I moved her to a toddler bed about 2 months ago, she was 18 months old.
She was still up EVERY night 1-3 times. She night nursed probably 1 times EVERY night.
Since moving her to her bed, she is now sleeping through the night almost every night now, and hasn't night nursed since going to the bed. She doesn't even ask for it anymore and completetly stopped asking as soon as she went to the bed.
Now she also started getting up at 6 am, when it was 7-7 before. I don't know why, why but she also started to not want a nap in the afternoon.
She was taking one after lunch, and every day it seemed she was NOT tired till closer to 5. Well I can't give her a nap at 5 if she goes to bed at 7!!!
I was at my wits end, but then I started letting her stay up a little later and magic all was cured in the world! lol
She now goes to bed at 8, sleeps till 7, then naps around 3 till 4. She is sleeping an hour or two less then she used to but she is happy! Not whiney and tired all evening long when I was fighting her with nap time.

lol at spiking your kid. I was say I am going to punt Nichole

DebraLyn also stopped napping after moving into a toddlerbed, so I set up a quiet time around 3ish and she could lay down and watch a video, no playing. She would insist she wasn't tried but almost always feel sound asleep 10 min into the movie
