Children: Nichole
Default What does you toddler eat on an average day?

Just wondering. I have a few friends with kids in this age group and some of them can't get their kids to eat anyhting!! I don't get it, I put food down for Nichole and she eats it. Now granted she doesn't eat peas very well, but other then taht its fair game. She loves black olives, mushrooms, green and red peppers (cooked), all meats, well just about everything I can think of. So is my kid weird or are there more picky eaters then not?

I know how that is, Nichole will eat a good amount for breakfast and still want to nurse like 30min later. I don't know where she puts it

When a toddler isn't eating much it might be because their growth has slowed a little, which is normal.

More often it is their having an easier option that makes the difference. When they can nurse or simply fill up on fluids they will wait for that because they know it's coming, so sometimes you must deny them that expected easy way out. Some times you might have to insist they sit at the table or in their high chair, even when they seem done, then withhold the snack or limit the fluid intake to just water until they get adjusted to having to stop and eat. They love to take a few bites and then go run around, only to be back within 45 minutes hungry,

Setting a require time for sitting at the table helps them to readjust to the expectations that mealtime will continue for at least 30 mintues, and eventually they will learn to do theri eating during that time.

I see what you are saying but thats not Nichole lol. She eats, like yesterday she had 2 scrambles eggs and a whole peice of toast, she alos drinks about 1/2 a cup of cows milk. (she's only 19lbs, 3rd percentile) Then she nurses 30 min later. lol her nursing only lasts about 2-3 min. she only does it for comfort not food. Now the middle of the night, she nurses for both comfort and food. grrrrr!!! lol She gulps it down, then starts comfort nursing, thats when I stop her and put her back to bed, which she is fine with. Silly kids

Kyler never wants to eat...at least not if he has to sit in his chair....the only time he really eats for me is if its something he can eat while hes running around...Its so frustrating because I'll cook for him and he barely touches his food

What did my son eat on an average day as a toddler?

Cat furballs, wallpaper paste, corners of books, dog food, my pants legs. Just kidding.

I thought he was going to turn into a peanut butter sandwich. He was hooked from the first taste.

Fresh tomatoes, too, were a favorite; and anything with garlic on it.
