 | 8 yr old boy taken for pedicure, dark nail polish | | Not sure if this is funny or disturbing but my ex has taken my 8yr old son to the beauty parlor when she has been getting her own nails done and has had them give him a pedi and apply dark nail polish to his toes nails.
It this okay or normal? |

 | Re: 8 yr old boy taken for pedicure, dark nail polish | | He is a boy! If it was an 8 year old girl I would have no concern. Just trying to get a general opinion on the matter. |

Children: Emily 7, Chloe 5 | Re: 8 yr old boy taken for pedicure, dark nail polish | | i wouldn't go with the nail polish thing, but there's nothing wrong with a good pedicure for men and women. if the son is wanting nail polish then he is most likely exploring how he feels about such things and generally just going through the motions figuring out who he is and would like to be. figuring out who you are as person and want to be isn't something that just happens over night or any any really specific age. its like when kids are little and they get asked what they'd like to be when they grow up. the nail polish does not have to mean something about the child's partner preferences later on. it could be leading up to the child maybe wanting to be a make up artist or something along those lines.
either way, i wouldn't be too concerned with it. he is your son. being a parent generally means accepting him no matter what he does.

Children: Eli - 3 years old | Re: 8 yr old boy taken for pedicure, dark nail polish | | I think I need to know if this happened once or if she takes him to get it done regularly. If it was like bssage put it, I would agree that's totally harmless and probably what happened. Like, if it only happened one time I mean while she had him with her. They were probably just goofing around and showing him what it was like to have it done for fun.
But I don't really think its appropriate to paint your little boy's nails regularly or anything. Its just an opinion of course and maybe I'm being a little closed minded but if it were my little boy I personally wouldn't allow that to happen regularly. Seems innappropriate to me. It's just something that he would probably get really picked on for. I wouldn't want to set my kid up for that.
But if it was once, who cares. Not a big deal.
