| Re: I need some help Mommies (and dads?) | | Thanks MM, great info...just to let you know the makeup artist is a very close friend and loves K very much, and will honor my wishes, as well has loads of experience with young children, so I'm happy to have her on my team. However, I'll still hit you girls up for final advice in about 8.5 years
I've let her use lip gloss, but she just puts it on and wipes it off...chap stick is a necessity here in winter for protection.
She hasn't mentioned it at all since before lunch (yay!) and for now, it will be a once-in-a-blue-moon playtime thing.
You should see me with my hair done up with tons of hair thingies
Sssssssssssexy! |

Airedales are nice too. |

Toy makeup is fine as long as it's not worn out in public. My 6 year old has a few sets of play makeup and she and her friends put it on in the house, but wash it off before they leave. As for real makeup, I'm going to let Kathleen start wearing lipgloss at about 10 or 11 and gradually a bit more, but probably not full makeup until she's about 15. |

Children: Nichole | Re: I need some help Mommies (and dads?) | | OMG that first photo is just to die for!! She is so pretty. I only read the first page so this may be already old topic. But I do agree that around 13 is fine for makeup. I would even allow lip gloss around 9 or 10 but nothing else. Ears will be done anytime after 7 depedning on her. If she is still super girly and responsible it will be then, other wise closer to 13 as well. Just depends on her and when she asks |

Just depends on her and when she asks | Thanks Kaytee, trust me I'll take any advice I can get, it can be tricky for me sometimes without a Mommy around, I know I have some homework to do for "you know what" stuff, but I know you girls etc. will help me through it. I think I handled this one well, she went to bed a little while ago (after fireworks) so other than asking once before lunch, she didn't ask again.
I love the first pick too, I had to post that one!...I tried to get a good pose out of her but she was excited about the company over, and acting a bit silly. As for her makeup application (shhh don't tell her I said this) I think she did pretty good for a first time, better than Tammy Faye at least! |

Children: Brian, 22; Adrienne, 18: Amy, 15 | Re: I need some help Mommies (and dads?) | | She looks adorable! And I always let my girls have toy makeup at home, which was not worn out in public. We didn't allow "real" makeup until 15-16 here...although lipstick was allowed at 13, in light colors.
