The best thing is to not make things forbidden, because then your kid will just want it more. Perhaps, if your daughter is interested in make-up, show her alternatives. Clear lip gloss that is scented will make her feel girly and stuff, and maybe doing up her hair in a completely different way will make her feel more mature. Glittery things and more colored lip glosses can be introduced around 10-13 and make up *done properly* can be introduced 14 and up in my opinion.

Just teach her about make up, share with her how you do your make up. Tell her the rules of looking sophisticated with make up and always remember that less is more. Show her when it's okay to use more *such as dates and stuff when she's older* and that it's not very tasteful to wear al ot while you're younger. Just tell her the truth
