 | Q: A 7yr old boy not wiping his own butt normal? | | My 6 year old (turning 7) nephew is perfectly healthy. Yet, his mom is still wiping his own but after he does #2. I've worked with kids in residential/group_home environment before, but I don't have kids of my own. So, I don't exactly know if this is a normal circumstance for the average family. Parents, please input. |

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: Q: A 7yr old boy not wiping his own butt normal? | | My kids sometimes needed help wiping up until about age 6, but that was usually when they were sick or had diarrhea. Other than that, they did it on their own. |

Children: Nichole | Re: Q: A 7yr old boy not wiping his own butt normal? | | Now i I will say that I wipe my dd's booty when she poops, and even most of the time when she pees. But that is because she is 2 1/2 and has already had a bladder infection from wiping herself. However this may not be the child's fault. It may be the parents never told the child how to do it and do it themselves.
I really think it depends on the age of the child, but almost 7 seems too old to me |

Sirk - What grown man can't wipe his own butt? I do know not all can put the used toilet paper in the toilet! |

My kids have usually wiped themselves by about 3 and occasional help until about 4. I have a nephew who is 5 and his mom still wipes for him, but she thinks he'll be able to do it by the fall (they have to be able to wipe before they start kindergarten.) |
