Children: I`ve 2 boys aged 5 and 8 yrs | Shoes | | Hi, i`ve just joined the site in the hope of help.....my youngest son is 5yrs old and has been at school since September, in that short time he has gotten through ( literally) 6 pairs of shoes!! The last pair only lasting 3 days!!! We`ve tried expensive and cheap, the longest he`s managed to keep a pair is half a term. It`s costing me a fortune as I don`t like to see him in scruffy shoes. Any suggestions???????????????????? |

| Re: Shoes | | What exactly is happening to his shoes within a period of three days??? I would probably be looking at what activities he's doing in those shoes before buying more. That's a lot of shoes! |

| Re: Shoes | | This may sound off base but you may actually want to take him to the doctor or ask the school's physical therapist to take a look at him. He may be walking in a way that puts undue pressure on his toes which in turn can wear out his shoes very quickly. |

Children: Nichole | Re: Shoes | | I would think that he is doing something to the shoes on purpose, just a guess obviously. What about giving him a pair of scruffy shoes that he takes to school that are for ply time ONLY. He has recess he puts on those shoes, recess is over put regular shoes back on. |

It's good for the school too so they don't have kids tracking outside dirt inside all day long! |

 | Re: Shoes | | Wow, I hope that works for you. I cannot imagine the money you are spending if he is going through them that fast. Maybe the teacher can keep an extra eye on him to see what it is he might be doing to ruin his shoes that fast. |
