Default When Friends Move

I have a question. Our neighbor just moved and they had a seven year old child who was a very good friend of my sons. They moved about a half hour away. I was wondering do you think it would hurt the child that moved to call in a couple of weeks and ask him to spend the night? My son is really taking the move of his friend hard. The problem I have though is I don't want to upset the child who had to move. I am just afraid that asking him to spend the night or letting my son call might make for a harder adjustment for him in his new school and just the overall having to move. I hope that this makes sense.

I don't think it would be wrong to ask for a sleepover. I mean, if the kids were friends, and you parents left on friendly terms, what would be the problem? I think it would be helpful, to both of them.

If you are concerned call the parents first. Talk it over with thrm, then have your son call to make plans.
