Children: Luke James Hunt: 28 months old | Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | If it was me, i would call the parents and ask if you could come by and meet them. Just say that your daughter came home with the invite and that you just wanted to meet them OR invite them over for coffee one night after dinner. Either way to make yourself feel better i would meet them. and maybe even drive by their house, OR if your DD has a mutual friend and you know their parents ask a few questions |

Children: One boy 8, twin girls 7. | Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | Can she just go until 9pm and then pick her up? Tell them you have plans very early so a sleep over won't work. I'd have to sit in on the party. I don't trust anybody and parents always put on a happy face when others are around. |

Children: Natalie is here and beautiful! | Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | My parents never checked out where we were spending the night, and later found out that my sister spent the night several times with a grade school friend who had alcoholic-absentee parents and a highscool-aged brother that is now in prison for raping his sisters. I do not trust anyone.

Children: 2 children, Debra Lyn, and Logan (Bubba) Michael | Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | Trina I didn't read the other responses so forgive me if this has already been said.... I personally would invite the girl over to your house for a playdate (is it still called that in 4th grade??) that way you can meet the parents when they pick her up or you drop her off and get to know the child as well

| Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | Hasn't really been an issue for me yet, my DD's only had 2 sleepovers so far...one at Grandma and Grandad's and one at my sister's with her cousins.
I would just be straight forward in meeting the parents first, should I ever host a sleepover here, I would also like to meet the parents of the kids coming over...they maybe feeling the same as you.
I think it's win-win if you just call 'em up and say you'd like to get together for a coffee. |

| Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | As for being the sit there during the party Dad...or the pickup before bedtime Dad.
I hear ya, and personally I would want to do that...I just don't think I could be "that" Dad. |

Children: Son-8 yrs old, 2 Daughters- 7 and 4 yrs old | Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | I think I would go to her house, I would call first so she knew I was coming but definately have a look-see at where my child was going to be staying. I have met some people who look clean, have clean vehicles and are nice but have disgusting houses. I would have to take a look at the actual house before I let my child spend the night.
I don't want my kids sleeping on a floor that stinks or going potty in a bathroom that...well you get the idea.
If I knew the house and parents were ok I think I would leave my child there to have fun, they know my cell number and they know all they have to do is call and I would come get them ASAP.

Children: Brian, 22; Adrienne, 18: Amy, 15 | Re: WWYD? Re: Sleepover party | | Is there time to arrange a playdate, or a get together between the moms, before the party? I never let any of my children go to someone else's house until I got to know the parents first. That's just one of our rules here.
