Children: Nichole | Re: One boy, one girl -- one dorm room | | at first thought I was thinking BAD IDEA!!!
But thinking about it more, makes more sense. I mean think of it this way. Girls are being raped in their dorms all the time now. If they have a male room mate that might deter such rapists. Also if you have a room mate of the opposite sex you are going to be lesss likley to have sex in your rooms. At least I would lol.
They say they have little problems with this, so I say why the heck not. |

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: One boy, one girl -- one dorm room | | As long as a student is at least 18, and this is of his/her choice, I suppose I can accept it, but I'm very surprised colleges are allowing this. It certainly should be voluntary and not assigned. I went to college, had female roomies, and simply couldn't imagine sharing a very small dorm room with a guy. Of course, I was raised by parents who were VERY, VERY against cohabitation before marriage. Heck, DH and I didn't live together before we got married because both our families were adamantly against it.
Perhaps I'm old fashioned, but this goes against my grain, especially when thinking of my own two kids. |

Children: Nichole | Re: One boy, one girl -- one dorm room | | it is optional they said. And it was only like a hundred or so students that took it up as opposed to the 10 thousand that were in dorms |

Children: Ryan 17, Sean 12, Landon 9, Kathleen 6 and Nathan 2. | Re: One boy, one girl -- one dorm room | | I really don't have a problem with it. When Ryan goes to university, if he wants to room with his girlfriend, or a female friend, it will be his decision. I started dating Adam when I was 18, just after I started university and we moved in together the next year (in an off-campus apartment). If Adam had still been in university, I would have liked to have the option to share a dorm room. |

Children: Luke James Hunt: 28 months old | Re: One boy, one girl -- one dorm room | | I honestly don't have a problem with this. I mean if a student does have an issue with it, most universities let you know who your roomate will be. But if you think about it, if you live in a student house, odds are if you don't have a group of friends you'll be living with guys/girls (granted not in the same room) but if kids are serious about school this wouldn't be an issue
However if i was rooming with a hot hot hotty, i would be flirting my way EVERY day LMAO |
