Yikes. My kids don't have cell phones, but if we get them for them in the future, we'll seriously consider not getting camera phones.

Yeah, even in at the nice middle class school that our daughter attends there has been a problem with this in the past. Boys/girls taking a quick snap shot in locker rooms and/or rather racy pictures of themselves. So far there has not been any incidents this year, and it is hard to know if the stories (from past years) that our daughter hears are true or urban legends; probably some truth to the stories, but made more exciting as as it get passed down to the lower grades each year.

There was this terrible scandal that swept through my school a few months ago. A girl was going out with a guy, and during their relationship, she sent him a couple of nude photos of herself. Rather foolish, ne. When she dumped him a few weeks after sending him the photos, he, in turn, sent the photos to everybody he knew in effort to embarrass her. Everybody at my school now knows what that poor (but utterly stupid) girl looks like nekkid now. D=

They're kids...they're sexually active...why is it surprising they are doing this?

I don't even think kids need cell phones, much less ones with cameras.

what's up with these kids these days. Back when I was in high school being sexually active would usually be when your in junior to senior year. Now a days you got kids in junior high being sexually active. thats crazy!!!

Cell phones or no cell phones, being sexually active or not - totally different topics and debates. These kids need to learn that putting anything risque out there, written or otherwise, isn't a good idea because it could potentially come back to bite them in the butt.

I blame so much of this on the parents. Once again parents are giving their children way too much. I'm only 26. I was 16 years old 10 years ago, and back in those days we had those big Zach Morris cell phones. Cell phones were NOT permitted in high school. If a child had a cell phone that rang, it was immediately confiscated and returned at the end of the school year. hence nobody brought one to school, and in case of emergencies we used the pay phones.

I see no reason for a teenager or younger child to have posession of a cell phone. If parents give their child a cell phone, it should be one of those phones with only emergency numbers programmed into it so the child wont be tempted to call his/her friends on it. I seriously dont know how parents are able to afford 40-80/month payments on cell phones for their children. What if the child runs up a huge phone bill just chit chatting with all their friends? The last thing we need is young ppl spending more time on the phone and less time on homework, chores, etc.

As a teenager, I've seen this happen in my own school as well. Boys would send pictures to girls on their phones from porn sites on the internet and tell them very disterbing things. And put their hands on them in inappropriate ways and the such. My boyfriend's younger brother had a fight with his family recently because they found almost nude pictures of his girlfriend in her underwear in his e-mail. He got away with it by telling them that she was in her swimming suit. ((aged 14~15 and she's 17))

I come from a rather... poor family? I guess you could say that. But my point being is that I never had a cell phone until I was in high school, and that was only a cheap pre-paid one. I didn't get a 'real' cell phone until after I graduated, and I was perfectly fine with that. Though, some parents in my area get their kids cell phones as young as 7! And expensive ones at that, like the Razr (or however it's spelled) phone that was all the rage last season. I even know one boy who has two phones on different plans! Both of which he carries around like trophies, which, in this day and age, is not a very good idea...
