my mom got me BC when I was 15 and had my first pap. I didn't see it as premission to have sex. I will be as proactive as I can about educating my children about sex and how it's better to wait but I will also provide them both with BC when I feel it is time

My wife became sexually active at 14 and was throughout high school with her 2-3 boyfriends. Her biggest regret was that she didn't use birth control. She never became pregnant, but did have a couple of scares. She thought she was pregnant at 14, but thinks she was just young and paranoid because she did miss a period. That scare did get her abstain from sex for several months, but then she got a new boyfriend and started having sex again.

With our daughter, she has been frank about importance of using birth control and our daughter knows where birth control is located at in our home in case there is a future need. My wife's parents are really nice folks, but they are the type that don't talk to children about sex and/or birth control, and my wife feels she was pretty ignorant at 14 about birth control and a few other things that she now feels all teenagers (and pre-teens) need know about sex.

When I was in college, I was shocked to find out that more girls than you'd think had sex for the first time at a young age; by no means average. Some had sex and really like it and continued being sexually active. Some had sex and didn't like it much as all, thus didn't have sex again for a couple more years. Sadly some were really screwed up because they were forced\pressured into having sex before they were ready.

One of my roommates had sex for the first time at 15 when he was seduced by a women who was in her 50s. He spoke very fondly of the woman.

My Dad (75) recently shared this fact. When he was 9 a 16 yr. old female baby-sitter seduced him.

No, it shouldn't happen. I remember me bringing my boyfriend home when I was 15. My mother said that he can't sleep in my bed, so he slept on the living room couch. He then moved in with me and my parents and my parents still didn't want him to sleep in my room. When I was 20, the same rule applied. They just said that we won't sleep in 1 bed under their roof until we got married. Two years we had to wait after that, which give you 7 years alltogether before we could sleep together (after we were married).

I'm glad that my parents were so strict and think that this is the way all parents should react.

So, a big NO, NO from me. I can't believe she's actually allowing this at all.

Maybe I should also add during my college days, I did meet 18-22 year old women who did indeed have sex stories from their teen years of being involved with men 10+ years older than them, (ie 15yrd old with a 25yrd). I don't recall any of them stating they lost their virginity that way, what I recall was they got involved with older guys because that was what they were attracted to. For some it was exciting that a much older guy was sexuallity intereted. Some confessed they added 1-3 years to their age if the guy asked, thus a 15 year old would say she was 16-18 years old. Of course this all happend without the knowledge of the girls parents, and that too was part of the excitement. In some stories I heard, the girls parents did figures things out (their daughter was sexuality active), and others, the parents never knew.

I had my first sexual experience when I was 15. I then got preggo with my son when I was 17.

It is to much for a young girl to deal with, even if they think they have the maturity for it...they don't. I thought it was no big deal, but it became a very big deal when I was a single mother of 2 kids at the age of 19. I wish my mother would have been more strict with me, I moved out when I was 17, I was able to stay at nearly anyones house I wanted when I was 15-17. I have been on my own since 17 yrs old.

It is a really hard start to life, and I don't want my girls going through that.
