Pill or no pill, the mother needs to realize that by saying it's okay to sleep with your boyfriend in your parents home while you reside there, she is leaving the door open to other more objectionable behavior. What happens when the boyfriend decided that he is going to bring a bong into your home, or a weapon? Mom is asking for trouble. She may trust her daughter, but is she totally trustworthy of the boyfriend? If he was that open about his relationship with my daughter, I would question him.

She is 16, and while she may be a fairly responsible child, she is still just that: A CHILD. Sexual activities are ADULT activities, and should be treated as such.

Maturity is a very nebulous thing. It could be argued from a purely theoretical perspective that there are some teenagers who have the maturity to handle sex and be a parent. The reality is probably no better than 1 in 1000 could handle it. So in theory (moral judgment aside) it possible, but the reality is that teenagers shouldn't be given permission to have sex because they don't have the maturity to handle it.

I definitely wouldn't allow two teens to sleep in the same bed. Maybe they'll have sex, and maybe they won't, but I'm certainly not taking the chance.

With my children, sleepovers are allowed as long as the sleeping happens in separate rooms. This was something I had to reevaluate after Morgan came out: since he's gay, does that mean I don't allow his male friends to share a room, but his female friends can? Or neither? It ended up being the neither option, with the one exception being his best friend, who is female, and who I know almost without a doubt he won't be touching. Anyone else sleeps in another room. With my daughter, her female friends are allowed to share a room, but if she were to have a male friend stay the night, he would sleep in another room as well. It is a bit of a double standard, but neither of my kids have made any serious complaints, so I guess it works.

jtee - I see no wavering of opinion here. I thought there might be some that have a slight inclination to agree with it in some form or way, but its completely one sided and all against.

I find that interesting.. Im a sponge for knowledge and have a thirst for studying human actions and reactions.

The argument Ive gotten.. is that they are very mature for their age and that her mother is ok with with. They are going to have sex anyway, so why not allow it in a safe environment..

I find no logic in that myself.. so part of the reason for posting this thread was to get an insight from others .. to see if my thoughts and opinions are outdated .. if at 39 Im really that far "out of touch"
