You may like to consider encouraging her to join saving with you as a start. Perhaps saving to get something that both of you really like. Example, if you know she like a certain holiday destnation, why not consider making her an offer to start a holiday fund together. If possible, you may like to offer to a 7:3 joint saving ratio to encourage her even more. This means, you will contribute $7 to every $3 she save. Well, saving for a holiday is just an example, it does not neccessarily has to be that. It can be anything that both of you like and can participate together... have fun doing it together. This may encourage her, not only to save, to later contribute to your housing expenses, but this may also bring you both even closer together.

Just a suggestion .... but I really hope this may help.

I think it's time to leave the "nest" - sometimes that's the only way they learn. At least that's my experience.
