Children: One boy 8, twin girls 7. | Re: Looking for Support | | This is why I am raising my children in a church. I want to teach them morals and values so that when they do go out on their own they will think before they act. I know they are going to make mistakes and that's ok. You just can not expect perfection from an 18 yr old. When you speak to a child that age you have to choose your words wisely. |

If it's all in the parenting, then please explain why three children, all parented by the same mom in the same way, didn't ALL learn the things you describe. #1 and #3 are model citizens, with no problems. #1 was an honor student in high school, has been living on his own since he turned 19, working full time, and will add college to that in September. #3 is in high school, an honor student, working part time, and an all around good kid. #2 is the ONLY one of the three to be the rebellious, devil may care type.
They have all three been brought up in the church, with morals and values. With oldest dd, they just don't seem to have "stuck."

Wether or not they belong to a church, kids can and might try drugs, alcohol etc etc etc. So long as you instill your views upon them, you need to trust them that they may choose the right thing to do.
