I'm 20 and I talk to my mom several times a week. I call her, text her. We do laundry together, she comes to my house and hangs out, she brings my 6 year old sister over, they visit with us and our kids. I think that for you to ask him to call and say hi a couple times a week is totally reasonable. Kids and parents should always stay in touch, there's never a bond greater than that between a child and a parent. Why lose it?
