Children: 4 yr old boy and 2.5 yr old girl
Default Re: My son will not eat!!!

for a start, simply don't offer foods that you don't want your kid to eat. if you think they're eating too much fats, too much chips (ie, ANY), french fries (ie ANY) too much sugary foods (ie, just about any)... then don't offer them.

A kid never starved - they might cry/whine/complain - just because they stopped being offered the wrong foods. Honestly, if your kid slows down and stops eating the 'good' stuff - that might be a great sign: it might mean that they're actually FULL, (which is defined solely by a child's inclination to continue eating, which always MUST be trusted and respected) whereas they used to just keep on eating because it tastes nice. Good to know.

I've lost count of the times I've explained to my 2.5 yr old "The PASTA is the meal, eat the meal. Yoghurt is for hungry people, you're not hungry if you haven't touched your dinner, so you're certainly not having any yoghurt. If you're not hungry, that's ok, just get down. If you're hungry, eat now."
