I would just ask your doctor. It says right on the bottle to use under the direction of your doctor. Also take a look at the ingredients, make sure they agree with you. I never assume something is good for my son until I've read the ingredients. I could be wrong but I think its full of sweeteners and stuff. Whereas fruit juice has actual nutritional factor, the pedialyte would only be kinda like a sweetened hydrating filler. If it were me I would personally find it more sensible to drink a glass of grape juice or whatever rather than a bottle of Gatorade. But that's just the way I look at it. I've always heard of watering down a baby's juice, but personally I have never done that. My boy isn't a good eater though so I try to squeeze in nutrition wherever I can get it. But of course, there's never anything wrong with a big old cup full of ice water on a hot day.
