This reminds me of a quote I heard about the difference between girls & boys...a girl will pick up a stick & think of the amazing creations of trees...a boy will pick up a stick & pretend it's a gun & shoot with it. For a long time, I wouldn't let my boys have any toy guns. But as others mentioned, boys will pretend anything's a gun. I still am not big on toy guns, but I did get a bunch of water guns for my son's birthday party water-fight & they all had a blast!
I know you're talking about toy guns, some kids (young & old

) like real guns too. I personally believe they shouldn't be in a home with kids or teens. My cousin & his friend were messing with my uncle's gun & my cousin got shot & died. My nephew also got shot in the eye by a bb gun & almost lost his sight in that eye. Way more accidents happen with guns than they help (except maybe in war zone or remote hunting villages). Gun safety requires that they be locked & bullets separate...so if a robber broke in & the gun was needed in an emergency...would there be time to unlock & load it?
