May Contain Peanuts
Bet you thought this was gonna be about Peanut allergy...nope.
Peanut Butter.
So, a while back there was a big stink over peanut butter containing those evil trans fats and thus being the next step toward my first heart attack.
So, I became aware that there were "Natural" peanut butters that didn't contain hydrogenated oils (trans fats) but that the downside was the natural oiles separated and you had to stir it up before use...no big.
Then I found a "natural" penaut butter that said it didn't need to be stirred - "Skippy Natural." Which is a lie, because as soon as you open the jar, you find a olayer of oil floating on the top. But it requires possibly less stirring than other naturals...so I've contented munched on the stuff ever since. Until today when I was talking about peanut butter with someone and I looked at the label and noted that my "Natural" peanut butter contained "Palm Oil"....Now forgive me, but Palm oil is one of the few saturated vegetable fats, so while I'm not consuming hydorgenated oil, I'm now consuming saturated fats.
It's as if I had given up margerine and replaced it with Lard - Hardly a health step forward...
So, just a story about my trip into deceptive advertising land...Natural doea not always mean healthy...

Re: May Contain Peanuts
I love peanut butter....but no Skippy's isn't as good as the real natural stuff. Our local winco allows us to make our own peanut butter. You pic your nuts (hahah) and pop them in the grinder...YUMMY!
I also love cashew butter and almond butter...oh wow...yummy....yummy ...yummy!

Re: May Contain Peanuts
We have a natural food store here where you can do that. I think the thing is you have to live with the stirring it up thing....
whilst eating cashews I've oftern thought they'd make good "butter" Them're some nice oily nuts there.
So, you see while I really savor my nuts, I haven't crushed them in a store...
(and next on "Taken out of context.....")

Re: May Contain Peanuts
Your in luck. I see you, like many other have become disallusioned with the constant stirring of peanut butter.
I have gotten together with the scientist here as BS labs and created the Dewalt automatic peanut butter stirrer. The Dewalt (drill not included) peanut butter stirrer comes complete with with one stainless steel stirrer. .............
Wait there's more...............Included with your peanut butter stirrer is the Dewault pop can poker. No more fumbling to get the pop cans out of thier cardboard constraints. Wirr plip glug glug right into the glass. No more trying to match empty can with thier cartons. ,,,,,,,
Wait there's more,,,,,,,,,, if you order today you can get both the Dewalt peanut butter stirrer and the Dewalt pop can poker for 12.99
