Default Go on the trip or don't go on the trip

Ok so I think I told you guys I went to the grand canyon we left I believe Tuesday of last week and we didn't get back till I think Saturday. Here it is, Thursday at like 2am and my mom wants to leave for Texas tomorrow morning at 4-5am.

We drove to the Grand Canyon, 12 hour drive and it took us like 2 days to do it. Now, the drive to Texas is 10 hours but it definitely will not take only 10 hours.

I don't know if I have it in me. That drive was hell and this drive, is ALL back roads the only short way to where we are getting there are no major highways. Meaning sketchy gas stations, no cell phone signal and roads that will go on forever.

I do want to go because we are going to see family this time and the weather is nice down there and we may even be taking my friend with us.

On the other hand, I'd have the whole house to myself for a week, me and just me. I'd of course have friends stay over etc because I do get freaked out when I am home alone at night. Especially with the recent spike of crime. We(my, my brother and our friend) recently discovered two cars "casing" the neighborhood, trying to look into cars to break into them to steal things out of them aka "car hopping".

I am really reluctant to go unless my friend goes. My mom invited him to come along but he doesn't want to impose but what he doesn't understand is how easy the trip would go along if he came. He is 19. We would have a 4th driver on the trip. My brother and I are BOTH friends with him so we would have a friend there the whole time. We're trying to convince him. He'd go for free and everything. Share a hotel room with my brother, while me and my mom would share one. Meals and everything for free. He really needs a vacation as well. He is so over worked.

Should I stay to go?

Might I add the trip to the grand canyon was unplanned. It was a literally up and leave in a matter of hours trip to get my brother away from the drama and everything.

My brother is LOADS better when he is around our friend. He is a much happier person with our friend around.

And our friend has actually stayed at our house over night like 4 times since Saturday as well. He's pretty welcome around.

Yeah, now I just gotta get my friend to go along.
I really hope he decides to go along. It'll keep me sane. The trip will be much better.
He's stayed at my house almost every night this week. Partially because he now doesn't live down the street but he now lives 30 minutes outside of town and hates driving back at night so he stays at my house. So I don't see how going would be so bad.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

Lol...I haven't vegetated in a corner....I am nearly 21 and I have been to over 30 states and Canada.
I am all for traveling...I am not all for two car trips on a two week span with two people who like to LITERALLY tell me every step of the way how to drive, "change lanes", "turn left". "speed up", "slow down", not just my mom but my 15 year old brother as well and don't forget the dog, who's breath smells like something died in his ass and he ate it...and he sits in the back panting and the whole car smells like dead animal farm manure...

I wish I had more time in between but I don't..I leave in like 5 hours..FML

Well Twain also said 'I have found out there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.' so take it as you will. Personally, I am glad of any chance I get to shake the dust of this town off of my boots for a bit...

In case it's not apparent, he's my favorite author...

I'm all for traveling but I'm realizing something huge here. This trip is not what I thought it was. I've been informed I am being flown back alone at the end of the trip. It was until my mom told me she didn't know how I was going to do alone that I realised that they may not be going back to Colorado with me for sometime. She said that she is getting my brother help in Texas and something about her dad helping her out.

This trip has not been going well. My brother has been out there with his mood swings, randomly flipping out and such. My moms anxiety is through the roof. She starts having panic attacks over the smallest stuff or starts crying. She started crying when we got into amarillo because she hadn't realused how "ghetto" it had become.

Only 2 hours into the trip she started flipping out after a yelling match with my brother. She was hyperventilating and kept claiming something was wrong and was begging me to find and exit to pull over and call 911. I had no idea what medically was wrong so I hit my hazards and flew 90 down the highway to get to an exit. She even almost passed out.

She later told me that what's going on with my brother is bigger than I know. He constantly talks about wanting to die etc. He has barely been eating or drinking and he just wants to idk sit and fester in the back seat. He's been like this the whole trip and it got worse when this kid who was been harrassing him called him. I pulled the kids number off Facebook and texted him and told him we are on vacation and tp not contact my brother.

We are almost to our destination and I will atleast be staying the weekend and then flying home while they do whatever here.

I'm worried and don't know what to do.
If they do stay and I go home I am having my frirnf who was suppose to go on the trip cone stay with me and help me around the house etc.

Oh and sorry for all the typos I'm on my phone and still not used to this all on screen keyboard
