Default Have you heard about this, has anyone tried them ?

I'm have super sensitive skin & burn easily, and i'm really worried about putting chemicals on the kids skins.
I found these "Sunny Sleeves" <link removed by mod> it seems like such a good idea but i'd love to get some feedback from anyone who has tried them
thanks
Karen

I haven't tried those. But I will tell you that my husband and I went to Hawaii last year and got burned. We saw a commericial on TV there for kukui nut oil for burned skin and it is AMAZING. We did not feel burned the next day at all and we should have been majorly hurting. I brought their biggest bottle I could find back with me. So if you cannot find stuff for before you go in the sun, this is definitely a great alternative and it is natural.

I know what you're talking about, those sunny sleeves things, and I'm all for UV protection and whatnot, but that seems like the perfect way to get too hot too fast. How would anybody be comfortable wearing these on a hot summer day? They're pretty thick, and its like you're wearing a long sleave shirt. When I take my son to the park during the summer when its 90F out, I'm not going to be the weirdo who brought the kid sweating to death in long sleeves.... o.o

AND what about the rest of their bodies? Your arms aren't the only thing that can get burned, and definitely not the only thing that matters. Will you put sun block on the rest of them? Their face, their necks, their legs if they're wearing shorts? In that case, you might as well just sun block their arms too haha. And even aside from that, if you have to buy special UV protection sleeves instead of just wearing a regular long sleeve shirt in order to protect your arms, then that means all the rest of your clothes aren't protecting you properly? So doesn't that mean that you should really buy an entire UV protective outfit? lol do you see where I'm going with this? I just don't see the point, I dunno. No offense, because they sure are cute if nothing else. o_o

I agree with Xero. They just seem like long sleeves that you can slide off your arms when you're tired of them.

It was 102 degrees here yesterday with a heat index of 115 degrees. There is no way I'm going outside it long sleeves. I'll just wear sunblock.
