Children: I have one, two-year old daughter
|
hi all!
hi everyone! My name is Carissa. I am a stay-at-home mom and military wife. We only have one child, our toddler, Iyla, but I am super passionate about being a mom.
I hope to receive (and give) a lot of support and ideas for being a better parent.
Thanks!

Re: hi all!
Welcome! Good Morning! I love your daughter's name! Can you tell me how or why you chose it? It is a top runner for my soon to be born son, and would love to hear how you chose it for your daughter.

Honestly, I wish I had a great story about why we picked her name, I just heard it and LOVED it and my husband agreed (which was shocking since we had been struggling to agree )
Thanks everyone for the nice welcome!

Re: hi all!
Where I am from, Iyla (also spelled other ways, Iyela, Iylah) is a way of saying everything is "cool". It's another way of saying "Irie" which also means the same thing. If someone asks how you are you can say "everyTing Iyla". It's more of a Rastafarian thing...which we have a lot of in the islands. I have a friend who's nickname is Iyela and I've always loved his name. And the meaning of it as well!
