Birthday Party
My baby is turning 2 in October, I usually have all our birthday parties at our house but this year I'm undecided. I live in New Mexico where they have the International Balloon Fiesta every year. I was thinking of having a morning birthday party (hot air balloon theme) at a park near the event the party would start at about the time the balloons would start to rise (about 7:30am) we would serve breakfast (with juice and hot cocoa) and do games and pinata after balloon watching (a lot would land next to the park our party would be at). I would probably do cake last. What do you think, Is it a bad Idea to start a party before 12:00pm, would you be willing to take your kids to a party that is in the morning???
* We would include a back-up plan on the invitation incase of rain *

Re: Birthday Party
I think that's a great idea, the kids would think it was so cool to see those balloons. I would totally do that

Re: Birthday Party
It sounds fun, but I sure would not want to get up at 6 or 7am for a party. :-P

Re: Birthday Party
A lot of people who live here plan on going to go watch the balloons once a year (not in the park but in one of the open spaces) If I send out the invatation before the event starts I figured it would be a one time shot to go see the balloons and attend a party... Do you think that would make it worth getting up at 6 or 7 for a party, if you were going to go watch the balloon anyway?

Re: Birthday Party
I htink it would be so neat. I agree it is early. Well how many people would yo be inviting? Would it be feasable to ask some of the intended guests what they thought?

Thanks :-)
Definitely ask intended guests! You can't listen to Kaytee...she thinks everything is a great idea.

Re: Birthday Party
I would love to ask them but if I did that everyone would have a different suggestion and knowing my in-laws they would all expect me to change the whole party to fit there needs (and they all would have different needs) I only invite a few people it's my in-laws that think you have to invite the whole family (form great uncle Rodger* to 3rd cousins Max* and his old girlfriend paula* who he dated in 8th grade she like family).... I'm not kidding either!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Birthday Party
Are you Mexican TAR?
Our little ones look the same, and you just described my wife's point of view for our son's brithday parties. EVERYONE has to come...I swear, we dropped $700 on just his party last year! Ugh!
