Alright I'm not sure yet if this is the place for this but read this article

I'd like to hear some thoughts from the board on things like this

Stuff like this makes me SO mad! I can't even describe it. Ugh!

What really just gets to me is how parents can be so unbelievably selfish. There are SO many couples who would love to have a baby and would make great parents.

I wonder - can they possibly love this child when they neglect and endanger it so? I don't think they could. They should have given it up for adoption.

personally I'm amazed he made it. 15 months is a long time to have to live with people like this, I think God had a plan for this little boy.
On a lighter note...Their bail is only $5000 and still nobody has posted bond for them

That is unbelievable. Sadly though this stuff happens so often that it is becoming more common. I can't stand stories like this. To think anyone would intentionally harm their child, it is far beyond me.

As hannah's mommy said, there are so many wonderful people out there that cannot have children but would be exceptional parents. A friend of mine is one of them yet people like this have no problem conceiving and this is what they do? Unbelievable!

I am so glad that nobody has posted their bail. I find this just totally disgusting. I am so glad that this has come out and now maybe this child has a chance at a loving home.

It is really hard to understand what is going through the mind of parents who neglect a child to the point of near death. This is a very very sad story

About a month ago we went to the movies and afterward we went to a fast food restaurant for a snack. As we were eating we noticed a little boy maybe 6-7 all alone in the restaurant. At first we thought the parent had gone to the rest room, but after 20 minutes we realized the little boy was alone. We became concerned, and were about call the police when the mother came from behind the counter and talked to the boy. The mother was working there.

To be clear my comments are not intended to be critical of this mother. What became obvious to us was that this mother had no options, at least that day, other than to take her son to work and supervise him from behind the counter; very sad. At least in her case, she was not locking him in a room at home until she returned for work.

when I was young my mom worked in a resterant in town, we had just moved out here and she didn't know anyone well enough that she wanted to let them sit for me. When I got out of school there was a couple hrs before my step dad got home so she would pick me up and take me to the resterant. I think I was about 9 or 10. I would sit in the office and do my homework or walk down to the bookstore to get a book to read. She would give me money to shop in town (mind you our downtown area is 2 blocks long, we live in a very sm town) I loved it but she always felt so bad that she had to take me with her.

I thought it was so cool that I could go walk in town. Now that I live right in town I understand why it was OK though, my town is seriously 1 square mile and we have our own police force. It's silly but I love it. On Halloween it's like something out of the movies (not horror movies, family movies) when the kids are trick or treating the officers stand at each street corner and cross the kids, firemen bring their truck and pass candy to kids with their lights flashing so it's brighter, and the streets are just packed with parents and excited kids. It's really a nice place to live
