Question Autism...the new ADD for kids?

Do people jump too quickly to diagnose children with Autism, simiarly to ADD in the 80's and 90's?

I don't think so. Now it is more prevalent for many reasons. One is the spectrum is a lot larger then it used to be. Children with very mild autism can function on a day to day level and become normal adults in society. Where back a decade ago, autism was the severe form only. Now I do think that it is on the rise. I don't know why or I would be rich lol!!!
I do think vaccines play a part. I am not sure that they CAUSE autism, but more like they are a stressor on an indicidual who may have had it very slightly and the vaccine brings them out kinda thing.
