Default What do your kids want for Christmas?

Here's what we have for our 4 year old son already:

Crossbows and Catapults game
Battleship
Some superhero figures
AT-ST from Star Wars
Lego Star Wars space ship
Some Transformers

I REALLY want to get my son this:

http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_081806a.htm

The Balrog from Lord of the Rings. I just think he would go crazy if he opened up a toy that is so big and cool. He really enjoys Lord of the Rings now, and since they don't have these toys anymore in stores, it would be a huge surprise. Wifey put the kabosh on it though. :-( I'm not sure if it's because it cost $100, or because it looks demonic...but we sure love the Balrog scene in the movie!

Wives stink!

So what is everyone else getting for their kids?

Default Re: What do your kids want for Christmas?

Hannah hasn't asked for any toys! She has asked for a couple of stuffed animals, but mainly she wants art stuff and games.

We are getting her a lot of art stuff and a big art table for her playroom, and some games, and some moon sand, and probably a few other little things.

Have you guys seen this moon sand stuff? It is REALLY cool.

Hey Fooser, do you ever wonder if maybe watching a movie I consider to be violent for a 4yo and the list of "war/fighting" toys might be the reason your boy acts out violently? Just an outside observation and comment no harm ment.

Nichole wants everything lol, she's 2.
We are getting her a cabbage patch doll, my parents are getting her an art easle/ table with a chair and bins to put all your stuff, and a pots and pans set, my sister got her a shopping cart with food. We also want to her the step 2 kitchen (made in America), but with all her medical right now we are not 100% sure we will be able to aford it, but we wil lget it soon.

I think LOTR is the greatest movie ever! but I also love the books, it's a classic!!

Well, my 8 year old wants a high school musical mp3 player and heely's, which I already have. My 5 year old wants littlest pet shop and a leappad writer, which I have. My 2 year old says all she wants is a dora bike. I guess she will get that too. My 15 month old is a little harder. She will be in a spica cast (body cast) for 4 months starting December 5th, so I need to find things she can sit and do. So far I got her the vsmile baby. That is just their big gifts. They get several little one's too.

The lord of the rings is a great story, with the classic battle between good and evil. There isn't any excessive gore or violence, I don't see the problem with a child of any age watching it. Action figures and super heroes aren't about violence and agression, they are about having a superhero to look up to, and having a role model. The way our world works sometimes requires force to get things done, and there really isn't anything wrong with a kid finding that out early.

I agree, as long as it is not bloody. And while there are a few intense parts in the movie that might be frightening to some hcildren, the majority of the movie is very mild.

ljmahr---not be OT but why is your baby going to be in a body cast? You of course do not have to answer if you don't want. Just curious

lol...no, I don't think that is the reason. I think the reason is that hitting and physical behavior goes on in day care...and that is where he learns it. Even when I tell him it's not okay to hit, his response is "Well everyone at my school does it!!"
