I found this article extremely interesting. I hope everyone is this forum watches the short video because women child molesters are extreme uncommon, so I think it is very important that parents know that it is not just men who sexually molest children, adult women do as well.

It goes to show that you can't trust anyone. Most kids that are molested are done so by family members, friends, teachers, or other role models such as teachers, youth ministers, even scout leaders.

Sickening.

My wife told me that when she was our daughter age she had a female councilor at summer camp that in hindsight might have been a lesbian. She just seem to flirt with girls and 20+ years later my wife perceives the councilor was testing the waters to see what girls, if any, might be receptive to her for a possible friendship\relationship beyond summer camp. The female counselor (19-20) was barely older than the girls (11-13) in the cabin. The next summer my wife returned to the same camp, but the female councilor wasn't there. Don't know if she was not asked to return or simply got a better paying job for the summer. Camp Councilors get paid very little, so the turnover rate from summer to summer can be high, at least then it was.

Our daughter has gone to summer camp for the past few years and theres never been any incidents of improper behavior of any kind between councilors and campers.

There are also many news stories of female teachers taking advantage of male students.

Then that's very sad. I would never send my children to summer camp if I had that fear. I'd never send my child to summer camp even if I didn't.
