company coming out of no where! Yikes
My 16 yr old step son calls me and says "me and meemaw are coming to visit you on Saturday" Of course I was thrilled and said sure that would be great.
Then he hits me with "my brothers are coming (2 of them) and his sisters who are twins.
I'm going to make a big dinner so they can eat but I don't have the money right now to take them anywhere or entertain them. I'm going to make a huge thing of my famous spaghetti.
I can't get a hold of my husband to tell him that he's coming (not that he would come home anyway) It's his son.
So my step son just wants to come and see me. I love that kid. I want to see him but was not ready for everyone too.
Any ideas?

I'm just not ready for the mayhem. I feel like they are going to be bored to tears. I have a trampolin so maybe they can go out there and go nuts.
I want to make them feel at home totally I just feel wierd that his father isn't here. This is what HE should be doing. I feel bad for him. He loves me more though
I'll let ya know how it goes. Thanks for the idea's.
I'd go buy cards but I don't know how to play anything.

Just relax, and enjoy the visit. They sprung it on you at the last minute, they shouldn't be expecting you to entertain them. Hopefully they'll bring some stuff of their own to entertain them...I always made sure my kids took stuff with them when we went visiting, just in case they got bored.

How did it go, Sha'? I hope these were smooth and relatively hassle-free.

Ok whew! They ALL came. Their meemaw is up there in age and is a sweetheart. I adore her. She has raised all of them by herself because their real mother is a piece of work. My husband couldn't come down because he had the flu.
All the kids got along great. Since the little ones were wondering what my kids were to them we just told them they were cousins. lol They were fine with that.
I let my step son and his eleven yr old brother (hyper) play on my pool table. That gave me a heart attack. The pool table is my baby.
They played basketball, played on the lanai. I BBQ'd hotdogs and hamburgers and meemaw rested on the couch.
It was a bit chaotic but they had a great time.
My son later told me that my step son and his eleven yr old brother were saying bad words outside. He's not used to talk like that so he wanted to come inside. All in all it was fine. No more huge visits like that again though.
My step son wants to come down for a week during summer...........I'll have to think about that. Him and I get along great but he's too wild for my little one's.
After they all left around 5pm my kids settled down and one fell asleep and the other two were very calm. hahaha It was nice afterwards.
So there was a 16,11,8,8,7,6,6 then meemaw and me. lmbo Next to giving birth it was a great accomplishment to entertain them all.
