If I had any hair I would pull it all out
Hello everyone. I am in some need of some help from parents with experience with a problem with one of my twin daughters. The last few weeks she has thought it to be cute to try and run away from me and her mother when its time to come inside from outside playing. Her sister goes inside no problem. however she thinks its a game and decides to take off running down the sidewalk and towards the street. We have sat her down and explained to her that what she is doing is not only wrong but very unsafe. She says she sry and it seems like she is understanding. That is until we go outside again and she does the same thing when its time to go inside. We have disciplined her by not allowing her to go outside and play while her other sisters were allowed to, put her to bed early with no tv, basically taking the things she loves to do away from her to get her to realize she loses privleges when she does this so she learns that its wrong to do. My question is, am I doing the right thing here or do I need to go in a completely different direction with this. Everything else is going great with the girls. The both are already potty trained and they are not even 3 yet and they are learning things so quickly. This running away thing is something that we cant seem to tackle though. Any sugestions?

Re: If I had any hair I would pull it all out
Do you know why she is doing it. When you sit her down did you ask her why she likes to run away from you guys, does she just not want to come inside? I know she isnt even three yet but you may be able to answer these questions.
I think you are doing well with what you are doing now, just continue to do it, it will eventually sink it. but if you dont know already I would ask her why she is running away. Also, do you have a fenced in backyard? If so I would tell her that if she keeps running than she will only be able to play in the backyard until she learns that "come inside" doesnt mean "run away."
Hope that helped some at least.
