Default insurance #x@##@rds

here's the deal. DD has several (4) cavities that need attention. Because of her issues (Autistic) the dentist recomended we have it done outpatient using general anastesia (msp).

Called my medical insurer who recomended we send a joint letter with DD's doctor and dentist explaining the situation what was needed including insurance codes. Did that I was given a copy of the letter and looked it over it was very clear and well written.

Insurance Co reviewed the letter and refused to cover expences. this is a three thousand dollar deal and if insurance wont cover we have to pay 85% upfront which we do not have.

The dentist (who refused to do this) is sending DD to another dentist who will restrain her to preform the proceedure. The dentist informs us that this may have lasting effects to her behaviour What the hlLL am I suposed to do???

Don't give up and keep fighting. I am surprised insurance won't pay, I had this done with my 7 year old and they never balked at having to pay, neither the medical or dental.

I would fight it and find an advocay(sp?) group to help you fight! I wouldn't have the forced precedure, It is way to hard on the little ones and the parents.

you all have inspired me to renew the fight. I am going to call the Autism clinic at University of Iowa. And ask for there help.

The wanted to Study her when she was 4 but DW and I decided against it because of DD's fear of people in white coats (not joking). I am hoping that if I let them be a part of her life (research). That they may give some assistance with insurance matters.

I think I have done all the things a civilian can do at this piont. I need people who know the system to help.
