big day
please wish emmy luck. she's scheduled for the tonsilectomy at 9:45. hopefully home b4 supper.
friday when emmy did the pre-op and heard dr. say she had to get blood drawn, she got a little scared and had the "hell no, it aint happening" kind of attitude. but afterward she was back to herself again and actually hamming it up.

Re: big day
thank you all.
emmy done goood. she was brave. she was chatterin' up a storm and running around when she wasn't supposed to on our way out the door, didn't want to be carried. she wanted to walk. lol
she's already hollerin' for the real food.
we were home by supper time even though it was lunch b4 she went in. had a quite night, not much spittin' or anything.
she's good to go.
um. it's funny or weird or something.---->the whole six weeks b4 yesterday, emmy kept talking about being up and on her feet doing just fine right after her surgery was over. we didn't think that would be the case, thought she'd be out of it for atleast the night and part of the next day. well she was right and we was wrong. it was like she knew she would be her normal self or was predicting that it would be almost like she hadn't had her tonsils removed.
chloe went with us. she behaved very well, just energetic. kept stealin' our pennies to toss in the fountains for wishes. (she wants a horse, or to be a horse, or both. lol) we had planned on keeping chloe home to help motivate emily into stirring around. after yesterday i don't think emmy is going to need any motivation. lol
things went really well. we're very proud of our girls.

Re: big day
think the speach could have done something to her voice???
ok, so we expected the nasally sounding voice for a while, but i swear on a bible emily sounds british now. she is talking so strangely great that it aint funny. she sounds british i guess. it's all proper and clear and correct. its cute and funny but i just gotta look twice to make sure its her when i hear the voice. sure looks like our emmy but she don't sound like our emmy.
she's recovering nicely. eating, eating, eating, taking the lead over chloe. it aint chloe eating us out of house and home now, it's emmy. lol she aint had any problems, 'cept for a little soreness in her jaws due to how they were held open i reckon, no fevers, no bleading, and knock on wood--none of that happens now. swelling is gone and everything. oddly enough she wasn't really big on the jello and pudding and icecream. she wanted Real food. we've gotta get through the days 5-14 and she will be all clear if there's no problems.

Re: big day
That's wonderful! I'm glad she's doing so great.
Actually, it is entirely possible for a tonsilectomy to change a person's voice. I don't know to what extent, but I know my sister was told it was possible when she got hers removed last year.
