on-line pharmacies
saw an ad yesterday for an online pharmacy. lol this got me to thinking this morning.
how reliable are those things?
does anybody here use them?
can they be trusted?
can it be debated? lol
we don't. we don't care for the credit cards and things. closest thing we come to that is the walmart gift cards. so they aren't an option for us.
but what about ya'll?

Re: on-line pharmacies
They are illegal in the UK if the medication requires a prescription, but I don't know if you can buy things such as ibuprofen online.

Re: on-line pharmacies
We have an option through our health coverage to use their online pharmacy. It requires that the doctor write at least a 90 day prescription and send it to them. We've never used it.

Re: on-line pharmacies
Seems like too much effort to me. I don't like giving out my check card number if I don't have to, as well. I think its much easier just to go down the street to the pharmacy. None of us get regular meds of any sort though, so maybe it would be useful for someone who takes daily pills or something and gets them refilled every month. The pharmacy isn't a very big part of my family's life as of right now so I don't feel the need to improve the usage. Doing it online sounds like a pain though.
I'm just like that though, if I find something I like online I'll call/look around the stores to see if they have it first before I resort to buying it online. Don't get me wrong though, I definitely buy a good amount of stuff online. There's a website that sells shoes and its the only place I get Eli's shoes because they carry a brand that fits him really nicely (he has funny feet) that I can never find in any stores. Plus they're SOOO cute! You should see the ones I just bought him last week! Omg.

Re: on-line pharmacies
Our health insurance requires we use Medco. We have the option of using a local drugstore, however, in that case, we'd have to pay full price. It was a PITB at first but now that I know how it all works it's actually easy and convenient. We use it primarily for DS's and DD's allergy and asthma meds.

Re: on-line pharmacies
We have medco, but we can use it at a physical pharmacy. We don't take any expensive drugs regularly so buying online though our insurances provider not just sombeody sending an ad, that I'd be suspicious of, isn't worth the price difference.
So Trina, what do you do when somebody gets sick and needs a 'script today. You have to pay the full retail?

Re: on-line pharmacies
IADad, we can get antibiotics, etc. right away at a local drugstore with no problems, however, maintenance drugs for allergies, asthma, diabetes, etc. will cost us full price if not through Medco. It's actually easier to order online and get refills through Medco. I was resistant to it at first, but like it now.

Re: on-line pharmacies
ahh, so they have them clasified...The only maint drug we currently have is DW's blood presseure med. Just got a refill yesterday for $1.74, so I don't think we'll fuss with trying to order it online.
Thanks for the clarification.

Re: on-line pharmacies
We didn't fuss with online ordering until our health insurance changed their policies and wouldn't cover maintenance meds unless ordered through Medco. Both our kids require Epi-pens, which can be up to $150 each! Hmm, pay full price at a local pharmacy or get 50% off through Medco? Not a tough decision. LOL!

Re: on-line pharmacies
