Birthday Party During the Week??
Ok so I have a really cool birthday party business idea for boys ages 6-10 that I want to start. For one reason boys don't have anything, clothes is the hardest to find for them and now a days even birthdays area hard. The girls have all these new party deals like Sweet and Sassy that a pink limo come to pick them up and take them to their salon to do their make up hair and nails...well what about our boys? Anyway I have a great idea but it would not generate enough income if it was only done on the weekends, and it would book up way too much so it would have to be done on the weekdays as well. The party or event would last about 2 hours or less and it would be for about 4-6 boys. So my question is what do you guys think of a birthparty or event like this during the week day? After school during the school year?
Thanks
David

I think we're being baited, but I'll go ahead and bite.
What's your idea?

Re: Birthday Party During the Week??
Why do you think your being baited? Baited for what? Im just a dad of three kids two of them being boys and me and my wife have a good idea for a birthday party event for boys. Just wanted to see what other parents thought about parties during the week. The problem I'm having doing this idea on the weekends only is that I don't think it will generate enough money to support the business, thats why I am wondering if doing this during the week would work.
Thanks

Re: Birthday Party During the Week??
Okay, I think I get where you're coming from.
You know those places with climb around stuff, that you can pay for your kid to go to or you can hold parties there? The same thing with those. I know they're packed on the weekends, but hardly ever anybody there weekdays or weekday evenings and I've often wondered how they cash flow those things out.
To answer your question David, no I don't think you could consistently count on booking parties very many weekday evenings....maybe right after school, but again, I think it would be hit and miss and not something you could consistently feel a week's schedule with. Then again, I'm saying this from the perspective of who lives in a metro area of less than 100k people...maybe, just maybe you could make it work in a larger metro area. To find out, you could research by figuring out the places that host birthday parties, and checking out either their bookings or drop in on some weekday evenings to see if they have parties booked. Basically saying if the most popular birthday party places can't consistently book weeekday evening parties, then who would consider booking your idea? The ONLY way would be if you're idea was so freaking fantastic that is boks up fast and is THE party every boy clamours for, then maybe demand would drive people to weekday evenings....but that seems like a real long shot to me.

I apologize if I offended you. We get alot of spammers here and your opening paragraph suggested that you would be following up with product advertisement.

Thats ok I understand and I appreciate the post and reply. I think your right though as far as the weekday especialy during school in the winter time whe it gets dark out so early. But maybe I can generate enought on the weekends I just have to figure out the right price to charge. I am sorry I know I am not giving alot of info on what my idea is but now a days with everything going on with the economy I dont want it stolen.
Thanks
David

Re: Birthday Party During the Week??
Oh okay, well that sounds like a cute idea. I'm not sure how much business you would get during the week, but you could give it a try. I personally would charge a little bit less for people that book during the week, that way there would be incentive to try it during the week instead of the popular weekend days. And tons of people will schedule the weekends reguardless because that's the best time for most people. So I think it would work out in your favor if you tried that. But either way, from what you described, it sounds like it could be pretty neat. Hope it works out for you.
