Default Trampoline or swing set?

trampoline or swing set???
permalink
I have a 3 year old who I was planning getting a swing set for christmas but now I'm rethinking and may get a trampoline. Which one will she get the most use out of and which one will she enjoy the most? So the question is trampoline or swing set?

We had a swing set first and just bought a trampoline and honestly they use them about 50/50. I think if I had to pick one that I would probably go with a swing set. I'm not sure why but it just makes sense to me.

Yeah I think I would also start with a swing set, and then eventually get a trampoline later (if that is within the future budget plan haha) because swing sets are more little kid oriented and he'll definitely love it right now, and the trampoline is loved by all ages so it doesn't matter if you get it later. I know as I got older swing sets were less appealing, but trampolines were always awesome, even moreso. Shoot, I just jumped on a trampoline a couple weeks ago and it was awesome.

Isn't a trampoline a bit dangerous for a three-year old? I wouldn't let my DD play on one alone until she's a lot older...

I picked up a used tramp two yrs ago for 75$ had the netting and everything. with the nets up and the skirt I would say its safer than the swing. you just need to supervise. which at that age your gonna need to do that with either. But i also agree with most IMHO flip a coin they will enjoy either. The one thing we can do with the tramp is lay on it some summer nights and look at the stars.

swing sets are great so are trampolines, but we chose not to do the trampoline becasue of a safety condern, once you put one in your backyard you have lots of neighborhood kids visiting and you are liable....

I've heard horror stories about liability insurance and tramps - you may want to check with your insurance carrier.

Yeah I think they're safe enough with the skirt and netting as well.

last year there was a bad hail storm in our area and it affected a lot of peoples roofs, before the insurance ajuster came to our neighbors house our neighbor moved his trampoline in our yard. I think it is one of the first questions an insurance seller asks you...do you have a pit bull? Do you have a trampoline.

My daughter loves them but she uses the one at her gymnastics class
